OT - Bears to Burbs

Getting rid of the landmark status quietly pushed the way to tear it all down. I think corbi is right. Bears leave and city tears down soldier field and mc 1. Make a deal w nfl, another team, maybe even some other outside parties to finance some gigantic complex on the lake full of bars, restaurants, hotel, casino and retractable roof stadium. And the bears shit themselves.

Old timers root for bears and each younger generation embraced the Chicago football team. Bears either get sold or simply move away. The Arlington heights experience a failure. And Chicago finally rid of the mccaskeys.

Any new NFL team would not play in Soldier Field. That’s a non starter. The discussion centers around redevelopment of the old McCormick place land into one large sports and entertainment complex.
This is a Bears town. No way another franchise would ever be anything other than a red haired step child in any of our lifetimes. No thanks.

Have you been to Jerry World or Sofi stadium? Neither are in the teams city limits and the places are so spectacular they actually have paid tours throughout the year. As long as they don’t cheap out, it is a can’t miss in AH.

kind of like the NY Jets. Not saying it’s likely to happen but Don’t be surprised if the Bears vacate the city that this becomes a more serious topic of discussion. Would you prefer to play second fiddle to the Bears in Chicagoland or be the Jacksonville Jaguars?
