OT ... First time Trip to Chicago

Love your list. Piccolo Sogno has the best patio in Chicago. The only place I'd add is Anteprima.

Don't know Anteprima. Do they have a specialty? I have also heard very good things about Monteverde but I have not tried it. I also should have added Topo Gigio, one of my old standbys that I have not visited in a while.

Monteverde is great, but their menu is limited and it can be hard to snag a reservation. Anteprima is in Andersonville, on Clark just north of Foster. They specialize in Tuscan Italian with a great selection of small plates, and have a creative mixed drink offering. They also offer a 3 course prix fixe menu on Sun-Thur that my wife and I love.
