LOL, good guess. I think Wilcox saved his job by Cal’s late run. I figured that if he went 5-7 he was gone, and if he left, the QB who saved his season, Fernando Mendoza, would hit the transfer portal and become a perfect fit for NU. Mendoza commited to Yale but got his first P5 (and second FBS) offer from Cal at the last minute when a Cal commit reneged. He has been very good for the Golden Bears, with a 134 QB rating in 7 starts as a redshirt freshman. He’s big, throws a nice ball and seem to have the QB sense that some high ranked prospects don’t: he was a 2 star out of high school.Also, OT:
