The only real surprise here is that the team did so well when Ty Berry was on the floor. 37-26 in favor of NU when he was playing (21 minutes). 33-19 for Illinois when Berry was on bench.
Probably should be pointed out that Berry was taken out of the game with 8:09 to go, NU leading 46-40. Illinois then went on a 17-7 run to win the game.

Another item that stands out is that Elyjah Williams played the last 15:40, Ryan Greer played the last 15:05 and Pete Nance played the last 13:25. Ryan Young was benched at the 16:23 mark. Robbie Beran was benched at the 15:56 mark. Needless to say, we couldn't hold the lead.

Oh, Nance and Young enjoyed each other's company for 1:04. We lost 2-0. Cockburn scored and Ryan Young launched (and missed) a 3-pointer. So much for the twin towers approach to playing Illinois.

I do wonder about the criteria to land in CCC's doghouse, given that certain players have the greenlight to chuck bricks game after game over the last couple of seasons.

Buie’s meaningless and uncontested 3 at the buzzer slightly skew the metrics.

Well, in Las Vegas I think that Buie 3 pointer was pretty meaningful!
(Last I saw Illinois was a 3 point favorite)

But yeah, its 3 points for 4 guys who happened to be out there with Buie.
I will often exclude the last part of a game if it is a free throw foulfest, but this was just the last 12 seconds and we outscored Illinois 3-2, so I let it go.

It feels to me like Collins told Audige to stop shooting so much.

Berry came in for Williams with 12 seconds left in the game.
We rebounded a missed Free Throw, then Berry missed a 3 pointer, then we had to foul. Illinois made both free throws, then Buie made a desperation 3.

So I can eliminate the segment entirely or leave it in.

I left it in. When Wisconsin hit that 60 footer and end of first half, I left that in too.
