I’m giving mine up. We are going to be awful with that schedule and this retard QB. Plus, I’m sure we won’t fire Lujan for some reason. And I’m sure I won’t be the only one to say enough is enough (especially with the prices).
Why do you think NU has any upside from the new stadium? I don't think that's the deal they made with Ryan..NU is so screwed, they might as well use the stadium as a concert venue and go the direction of U of C.
Then why invest, just say it was a nice run.Why do you think NU has any upside from the new stadium? I don't think that's the deal they made with Ryan..
..of course NU doesn't have much downside either.
Correct. Then why invest, just say it was a nice run.
On behalf of corbi..."what game are you watching??? He's still developing as a QB". Also (ducks) retards are offended by the comparison.I’m giving mine up. We are going to be awful with that schedule and this retard QB. Plus, I’m sure we won’t fire Lujan for some reason. And I’m sure I won’t be the only one to say enough is enough (especially with the prices).
I feel sorry for the Alums in here. The Braun/Lujan era will be short lived, but the worse thing is who will replace them? No quality/proven CFB coach available will want the job without NIL in play, and even then it might be a stretch.I’m giving mine up. We are going to be awful with that schedule and this retard QB. Yep, I think the BIG will eventually put us out of misery.I feel sorry for the Alums in here. The Braun/Lujan era will be short lived, but the worse thing is who will replace them? No quality/proven CFB coach available will want the job without NIL in play, and even then it might be a stretch.
MAC here we comeYep, I think the BIG will eventually put us out of misery.
?!? NU is not moving to the MAC simply for $ reasons and we can t get booted from the B1G as you might have heard we are a “charter member.” This thread went off the rails. I was talking purely 2025. (But if we get Gronowski - it’s possible we could bowl.)I really think NU wants this.
Then NU needs to act like it, which they have not. Perhaps Gragg is working this all out....in his new role.....?!? 2026 is likely to be much better with a better recruiting class and O’Brien at QB.
I really think NU wants this.
His job is irrelevant and he would’ve been paid regardless. NU is simply saving face by not firing him. I assume his role is eliminated (with no press release) at the end of the school year.Side note, the Gragg situation tells you how serious NU is.....anyone with his "poop" would have been fired, and he was moved to a new role. That's how serious NU is about athletics.
Really? The University isn’t spending all that money. A donor is funding the lion’s share (and his kid’s firm is doing design work, didn’t we just read). If we wanted to drop down to the MAC (or similar) we would not be spending nearly a BILLION DOLLARS on a new football stadium. Be serious.

The stadium is an entertainment and sports venue, in that order. NU leaders know what is up. We can’t compete in the NIL era. Alternate revenue streams are the plan.
Not to be pedantic, but $850,000,000 is only 9 figures......Oh okay since Pat Ryan is paying for it, the university is perfectly happy spending two years building a 10 figure stadium,
Seriously dude? I am as pissed as anyone wasting my money and weekend here in AA only to be humiliated, but can you stop with calling one of our players a “retard” and “idiot” in your posts expressing your disdain for him.I’m giving mine up. We are going to be awful with that schedule and this retard QB. Plus, I’m sure we won’t fire Lujan for some reason. 1. Sorry you wasted time and $ in AA. As a Michigander I was going to go as I thought it was the best chance to see a win in the Big House. By the end of Q1 I was glad I hadn’t.Seriously dude? My lady friend has an autistic son and believe me if he understood how difficult that is he wouldn’t use that word.1. Sorry you wasted time and $ in AA. As a Michigander I was going to go as I thought it was the best chance to see a win in the Big House. By the end of Q1 I was glad I hadn’t.
2. As a parent of a special needs child, I agree - mods, posts with the R-word should be deleted. It’s as bad as racial slurs, just that many of the slighted group can’t speak up about it.
You significantly underestimate the potential revenue.Oh okay since Pat Ryan is paying for it, the university is perfectly happy spending two years building a 10 figure stadium, pissing off the surrounding community in the process, all for the sweet, sweet alternate revenue streams of a few concerts a year and a Christmas market. Again, be serious.
Will it? The stadium is kind of a tweener size. It will be an outlier for tours that are visiting NFL stadium size venues (60K) but will be bigger than the arena tours in the +/- 15K range and arenas can hold concerts year round. You significantly underestimate the potential revenue.
While they accepted approval for “a few” mega concerts in order to get City approval to build, be assured that the current approval includes many more smaller concerts. There will be many more mega concerts in time. The Wrigley Field chronology is worth reviewing. And all those concerts now coming to Wrigley will be at Ryan eventually as promoters and acts will benefit from lower non-union labor cost and taxes.
This is quite serious. Concert revenue will exceed football revenue in the first full year of stadium operations and massively outstrip it in five.
As I understand it, it is because he controls and receives the revenue stream from the stadium. His “donation” is just an investment. NU gets to use the stadium for football and hasn’t used its money to build it but that facility is for the benefit of Ryan and it's his investment risk.I have a tough time understanding why Ryan agreed to pay for this "concert venue". This just sucks all around.
Save face for what, dude sucked at his job and he is still technically "on-staff". His bio was removed from the athletic site and now on the NU leadership page. His job is irrelevant and he would’ve been paid regardless. NU is simply saving face by not firing him. I assume his role is eliminated (with no press release) at the end of the school year.
Yessir. As some have some have done since the very idea of it emerged. This is classic.
Now people here are ripping on the new stadium.
I have not heard this and would be shocked if it were the case. That would reveal a stunning degree of managerial malfeasance. As I understand it, it is because he controls and receives the revenue stream from the stadium. His “donation” is just an investment. NU gets to use the stadium for football and hasn’t used its money to build it but that facility is for the benefit of Ryan and it's his investment risk.
I don’t think it’s a good deal from the NU point of view but I guess they did.
