Softball: Game 2 underway (ESPNU, then ESPN2)

NU is the home team for game two.

Danielle Williams got the start tonight after throwing 179 pitches in all 11 innings last night.

She did not look great in the first inning, issuing a walk and a HBP, but kept the damage to one run after an ASU runner was thrown out at the plate on a single to left.

NU just ran into an out on the bases in the bottom of the first, a problem in the late innings last night as well.

1-0 ASU after 1.
Game on ESPNU at the moment but will shift to ESPN2 after UCLA finishes off Duke.

NU just tied it up with two outs in the bottom of the 7th.

4-4, on ESPN2.

…And onto extra innings, again!

This one didn’t last as long. 7-4, ASU, in 8.

Williams reentered who with two runners on and didn’t have it.


NU will be the road team again in the final game of the series on Sunday.

Time TBD, but I hope it’s another late one.
