I’ll take the over with the caveat about injuries. We need guys like Marty, Gerak and Clair to come back quick.Big Ten isn’t particularly good.
And NU has a great history of randomly showing up in October, but that history happened with Hank helming the D.
The change at QB is an apparent positive. The defense is the drag now that offense used to be. I do not get one step forward and one step back.I’ll take the over with the caveat about injuries. We need guys like Marty, Gerak and Clair to come back quick.
Me too.I’ll take the over with the caveat about injuries. We need guys like Marty, Gerak and Clair to come back quick.
Purdue is up there with them. Rutgers is better than you think. They are the best of that group.3 wins is probably too bearish (unless Marty is injured, then yeah 3 wins is on the table).
5-6 feels most reasonable right now based on how we've played but the rubber meets the road quickly in the next 3 games.
If we want to go bowling this year, Nebraska and Rutgers are probably 2 of the worst Big Ten teams on the schedule other than Illinois.
I'll feel confident we can go bowling if we win the next 3 games.
Toledo and FSU (blown out by Wake) gave ND much better games than Purdue did. I hope we can make fun of Brohm’s son this year. How many years without a promotion from get-back coach? Pathetic.Purdue is up there with them. Rutgers is better than you think. They are the best of that group.
That's fair, just hard to know with those teams given they haven't really played all that many good teams (Purdue played ND, but hard to tell how good ND is).Purdue is up there with them. Rutgers is better than you think. They are the best of that group.
I think 5 is an outside possibility.Big Ten isn’t particularly good.

If NU beats Iowa with good defense and good offense, I'll take back everything I've said, but at this time, I do not see it. If NU beats Ohio and Nebraska that will be a big step to beating Iowa. But there's Michigan and Minnesota in between, ugh!Me too.
NU always gets better. They’ll probably wind up with 6 or 7 wins, and one totally unexpected win (Io_a) and, if that happens, it’ll be a huge step for the program to not backslide.
Geez, that first half was bad, tho.
Also not sure I'm gonna agree with your first line.Big Ten isn’t particularly good.
And NU has a great history of randomly showing up in October, but that history happened with Hank helming the D.
The West seems bad, except Iowa. Purdue and Minnesota seem to have take a step back, and Illinois and Nebraska haven’t gotten better. Also not sure I'm gonna agree with your first line.
Most of the Big Ten looks a lot better than it has in recent years (Ohio State isn't quite as dominant as other years, but Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Iowa, Rutgers, Maryland all look much better than recent past).
We're fortunate that most of the improvement appears to be in the other division other than Iowa.

Rutgers' defense looks very good, offensively they can be up and down. I think we have to have Marty for that game.
I think 5 is an outside possibility.
Is that where this program should be at this point? I do not think so.Yeah. Get a couple of lucky breaks, do Ok on the injury front, and maybe we sneak into a bowl with 5 wins on the APR loophole.
I don't see them beating Io_a unless they figure out how to stop the run.Me too.

I think we can find six wins with Marty.I still think we can find six wins.
So what? Finding six wins is not the issue.I think we can find six wins with Marty.
Any further word on his injury?
It's certainly better to win six game than not.So what? Finding six wins is not the issue.
We are capable. Capable of losing out but also capable of winning our division. If NU beats Iowa with good defense and good offense, I'll take back everything I've said, but at this time, I do not see it. If NU beats Ohio and Nebraska that will be a big step to beating Iowa. But there's Michigan and Minnesota in between, ugh!
Based on the current evidence I do not see NU beating anyone other than Ohio and possibly Rutgers.
2 wins. Will beat hapless Ohio U next week and then the table is run the wrong way through the rest of the B10. Just a bad year.
NW had spring ball in 2020.. everybody had spring ball this year. I see you guys winning one or two. Bottom 2 roster in BIG.
As a nihilist, do you think football should have rules? My favorite quote in The Big Lebowski: “Nihilists! F*** me. I mean, say what you like about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos.”NW had spring ball in 2020.. everybody had spring ball this year. I see you guys winning one or two. Nebraska is going to beat you guys. they are much better than their record indicates.....3 wins is probably too bearish (unless Marty is injured, then yeah 3 wins is on the table).

I bet they are, hell they beat IL.....oh wait.Nebraska is going to beat you guys. they are much better than their record indicates.....

Pick any B1G team on our schedule. Would we have beaten any of them this weekend? Maybe ILL. Maybe. Even moribund Nebraska played with talent and passion. We might get better. THEY might bet better. Doesn't look goodThe West seems bad, except Iowa. Purdue and Minnesota seem to have take a step back, and Illinois and Nebraska haven’t gotten better.
OSU seems down.
Michigan and MSU and PSU seem improved.
NU’s schedule is definitely favorable.
SoundlyNebraska is going to beat you guys. they are much better than their record indicates.....
Soundly
Well, amigo, I have already over predicted ILL's success, but tell me if you think losing a close game to ILL in week zero is more humiliating than losing to Puke in week 3.LOL. Nebraska lost to Illinois with Sitkowski at QB. You two clowns need to hit the road.
NU with Marty at QB beats Nebraska and a lot of other teams on our schedule. . Nebraska has individual talent but is a horrible team. Undisciplined, error prone and with a a Tremendously inconsistent QB.Well, amigo, I have already over predicted ILL's success, but tell me if you think losing a close game to ILL in week zero is more humiliating than losing to Puke in week 3.
Since the ILL game, Nebraska kicked the crap out of a team at ISU's level, beat a decent MAC team by 4 scores, and went toe to toe with Oklahoma.
Watching Nebraska and Oklahoma and THEN our game, looked like Nebraska would beat us like a giant Purdue drum. Even hapless ILL looked ok against MD. I didn't see a single B1G team, that, had we played yesterday, we would have beaten. Did you? After 3 listless games, I see virtually no improvement. One half game of decent defense yesterday, and ~ one half of pre-injury QB play , both against a likely 4-8 team. I do believe our team will get better, but not sure it will be enough to beat any B1G teams. Right now, we are the worst in the conference. If we can't stop Gustav Oppenheimer running, or whatever Duke's QB name is, I am not confident we will contain Martinez. Embrace the suck
Man.. you are in for a rough year.LOL. Nebraska lost to Illinois with Sitkowski at QB. You two clowns need to hit the road.
