In Episode 405, the West Lot Pirates pull the positives (and there were a fair amount of them) from the Purdue loss. At the same time, we juxtapose what Purdue and Jeff Brohm were able to do with a single impact player and a 3rd string quarterback with you-know-who's use of Kyric McGowan, and the difference between gadget plays and an effective overall scheme.
With all of this said, Vegas isn't lying about this 40 point spread against UMass. We may not win by that many, but this is going to be a smooth ride. For the second game this season, Drake will be the lucky recipient of the "You're the #1 back against a defense our line will absolutely dominate" award.
A win here, of course, doesn't mean that much. But as many have said, a silver lining of the Purdue loss is that it firmly establishes this season as one that should bring change. We feel bad for the players, but we find reason for hope as fans.
