Good players but our defense is gassed. We badly lost the field position and time of possession battle. That usually results in a worn down defense in the 4th quarter. That is exactly what you are seeing right now.

Yeah, no excuses at all. Tennessee was the better team, but the defense did their part. They weren't shutting down the Vols, but they weren't be running over either. But the offensive three and outs and TOP just caught up to them and you could see it start to happen late in the 3rd. You just can't be out there that long in that heat without having a drop off.

Also, Hurd is a beast. No denying that.

I said they were good players but they wouldn't be this effective if our D was not on the field for more than 2/3rds of the game and defending a short field the whole time. That is obvious when you compare how effective our D was in the first quarter and a half vs. what you see now.
