What’s funny is I was 100% sure NU would false start there. What I didn’t expect is that the refs would miss it. I know most of us were looking for it.

The DL is sad to watch. Meiser, Spivak and Pooler are gone missing. I think DL is where the huge regression on defense has originated. There's simply no pass rush.
I was at that game. We were all hopeful that the bye week had buried JON in the doghouse and we'd start having a defense again.
At least NU gets the ball to start the second half, unless the kicker slips on the opening kick and Illinois recovers it.
Not that it matters at this point, but shouldn't that have been an invalid fair catch against ILL on the punt return? He waived his arms and then ran with the ball.
This has been a brutal first half to watch. Our offense and defense have quit. Changes must be made in the off-season. To be blown out by the Illini is not acceptable. So many BT games where we were not competitive, and the game over by the half. Painful to witness the slide of this program downhill.
The portal exodus was a bad omen. First sign that it wasn't all Roses in Evanston.

What do you think Fitz's demeanor is in the locker room at the half? Serial killer quiet/understated? Flip the table of Gatorade angry? My girlfriend just dumped me defeated?
That should be the plan. It’s official, Northwestern stinks at just all three phases of the game, offense, defense and special teams.
Not even close to this yet for Fitz, but he better make some serious changes in this offseason, whether it's coaching staff, recruiting, portal, game style, or some/all of the above.
Unless he’s willing to make changes he needs to go. We’ve been unwatchable and the worst team in major conference football 2 of the last 3 years. This team has not improved at all the entire season.
