At least you managed not to be capped on this one.
That’s not quite right. Fitzgerald is bringing breach of contract claims regarding the termination AND also tort claims, alleging intentional infliction of emotional distress and defamation — specifically, that he was harmed by NU’s statement that said he failed to carry out his responsibilities as coach by allowing hazing to occur within the program.Fitz’s suit is not based on proving or disproving that hazing occurred. As the statement from his lawyers clearly states, the lawsuit claims wrongful termination and violation of a verbal agreement by Schill when he reversed course and fired FItz after announcing publicly that FItz would be suspended for two weeks as a result of the internal investigation regarding the hazing. All else is fairly irrelevant..
Interesting and for me, gratifying. Why? Couple of seasons ago the Cats played an early-season 3-game series against U of Houston, and I saw them all. For some reason I started playing "fantasy scout," as if I were there to identify & evaluate individuals' talent. Trent was only a frosh and hadn't played a half dozen college games at that point, but he was one of two new players I tabbed as showing exceptional promise.
When Dave Revsine says it, I believe it.Its pretty difficult to say which coaches are being recruited and which aren't.
Obviously Collins has an agent, like all the other Power 5 coaches, and part of that guy's job is to leak stuff to the media to put his client in as positive a light as possible.
So we hear rumors that this school is interested in this coach or that coach, but a lot of that is fiction.
Especially when the agent is trying to get more money out of his client's current employer.
Big question on KJ’s defense hangs out there (I see you used “potential”).Given how high Chris Collins is on Tre Singleton, it wouldn’t be surprising if Northwestern’s 2025–26 starting lineup looks like this:
Collins clearly likes Singleton’s length and potential versatility, and keeping Martinelli at the 4 maximizes his inside-out scoring ability. Reid’s quickness and feel for the game should help control the tempo, while Windham brings needed shooting and the potential for strong perimeter defense. The expectation is that Northwestern will land a veteran transfer big man to anchor the paint and provide rim protection. If the pieces fit, this group has a real chance to be competitive. Martinelli, in particular, could be poised for a very big season.
- Point Guard: Jayden Reid
- Shooting Guard: K.J. Windham
- Small Forward: Tre Singleton
- Power Forward: Nick Martinelli
- Center: Transfer Big

Means that school no longer is conflicted trying to have PF as an ally and an opponent. Someone must have felt that the hazing case posed the greatest liability or PF’s demands were too high.To me, it means
1. that Dan Webb writes a lot of words, and
2. that the university is paying the players for their suffering, therefore setting the stage for
3. Fitz to be held accountable for the players’ acknowledged suffering
My read of the Fitz contract is that this actually wouldn’t affect whether he could be fired for cause.
Also, it’s one major step closer to over.
