Here’s the thing, you weren’t good enough to be asked to play for the school. Secondly, the TV networks were not paying enormous sums of money to watch the likes of you and I playing each weekend. There is literally no return for the schools investment on us.

As a former D1 non-revenue athlete, I am well aware that revenue sports pay for all other sports including the entirety of the Women’s athletics program in most schools. I also watched many men’s non-revenue sports being dismantled in the name of Title IX. Yet, money kept rolling in to schools on the back of basically two programs. It was never going to be sustainable and the fact that the Greedy University Administrators held on as long as possible eventually backfired and led us to where we are today. Labor ain’t free and this is capitalism, at its best and at its worst.

Ty and Jalen went 8 of 12 from three. The rest of the team went 1 of 13.

Other than the obvious - points are how you win - this is the key to Berry/Leach/someone hitting 3s each night. It keeps defenses from taking the lane away from Brooks and Nick. We'll see lots of this, but we can exploit and neutralize it by hitting our 3s.

I'm more of a FB fan, and have lived away from Chicago until mid 2022. Finally got to WRA today. My comments.

  • I expected it to be a mausoleum today. Nice crowd and pretty active.
  • The little that I've watched (today and on TV), I'm alarmed at Leach's inability to bring the ball up and handle pressure. He can score some, but woof handling and distributing.
  • Ty Berry, PLEASE be back. Brooks and Nick can't do it alone.
  • Really nice venue. Excited to go back soon.
  • Crappy weather or I'd have walked around outside to see stadium progress.
  • Hunger looks like he regressed.
  • Excited to see the two young guys get a couple of mins.
  • Big Matty's swat brought me out of my seat.

I go to every game (I know - your happy for me) but my oldest son was with us and I kept telling him on the way over that I expected 3 thousand tops and a dead arena. I am really happy to have been so wrong.

Also, I love it was first visit to the new WR. At the last game, we were talking about the days before the '83 rehab when the place still had dirt floors. We've come a long way from having that to having one of the best places to watch hoops in the country.

I think the administrators and faculty immediately give themselves raises (if they can) and spend the money on athletic equipment and facilities, then distribute whats left to other programs in the school.
