He was not learning coaching from Colby. Fitz was his position coach in college and probably taught him way more directly than Colby. And I suspect Fitz was still his main coaching mentor during JON’s brief stint.McGarigle spent more time with Colby & JON than Hank.
This seems like a story you would have shared if you had read it in USA Today first. 🇺🇸What do I have to do with this?
What do I have to do with this?Gee, I wonder if Kelly screamed at him until he was red faced on the sideline. @Eurocat?
LSU player called for unsportsmanlike conduct after appearing to pretend to shoot gun after touchdown
LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy appears to pretend to shoot a gun after scoring a touchdown, resulting in a 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty on Sunday.www.foxnews.com
There are a lot of things one could say in response to this.Pearsall got lucky and I’m very glad he did.
There are too many guns in this country.
There was the scent of Fitzball, but also a clear move away from it. Struggling in the red zone was one characteristic of Fitzball. Against a good defense on Saturday, NU scored once and almost a second time, due to a fluke snap. That doesn't reflect on the overall offensive drive to the one yard line.

I agree pass protection was pretty good. Run game I think is the concern when we play high quality defenses. 65 of the 150 yards running were from our QB and majority of that on scrambles (nice call on the zone read to salt it away though!). Let’s just beat Duke next week though and then we can worry about the rest of the schedule. In my opinion most are underestimating the play of the O-line. They held up very well in pass protection and we out rushed Miami by over 100 yards. What's not to like other than the bad snaps? We covered the spot and should have won by even more.
Illinois and Purdue both had better Engineering programs than NU when I attended. But the NU degree overall carries more weight in some circles.Reality is that there are a lot of good schools and the differences are often not that great. But it is often program by program, I went through Engineering. At the time there was Cal Tech and MIT and after that a group of about 20 that were pretty much at the same level. All (or almost all) of the Engineering programs in the original BIG were in that top 20 group, including NU. The better fit was often more of the nuances of the individual programs rather than their ratings which were all about the same. At the time NU was a better fit as students got a little broader background. I was also from a smaller town and the smaller size fit me better, But the overall quality of the education is pretty similar. I can especially say that also because of my work with Engineers out of a lot of programs. I cannot speak for other schools at NU, but I can definitely say that unless those nuances are important to the individual in Engineering there is not really an advantage in going to NU over other BIG Engineering schools (at least in the original BIG)
Let’s ask @HawkCat about that. What the heck is this ongoing love affair half this board has with Iowa??!! Screw Iowa!! They're one of the BIG rivals I hate the most!! (Hate, in a relative sports is not really bigger than life kind of way, of course)
We scored fewer points than any team in the BIGPretty typical ranking without watching the game or knowing anything about what transpired.
I'd put Wright above a bunch of the other QBs in terms of performance, and given we played a team better than most of the rest of the conference did, hard to take this seriously.
But we won't be able to show that until we win a couple more games; just how it is.
