My column: It's time for the Wildcats to start Ciaravino

In the last couple games Berry has only been able to put in about 15 mpg because of foul problems, He would likely still get his minutes but perhaps being able to see things develop by starting an the bench might help him. And starting is not as important as who you want closing out a game. Claravino also tends to have foul issues. Perhaps starting could help him in that respect as well.

I actually think Dave Revsine's daughter (Class of 2024) deserves a big chunk of credit.
From what I was told, she was the go-to for organizing and promoting postgame social activities.
And if you don't go to the game, don't even think about showing up at the postgame party.

Its the little things.

I watched that game. Kept trying to figure out what PSU was doing to stay close - when we couldn't.
Baldwin played hurt (his back) but kept drawing fouls and making free throws.
Their center Konan-Niederhauser had a good game with 3 blocks, 3 assists and 13 pts but fouled out with 4 minutes to go and that may have killed their chances. PSU also lost starter Puff Johnson to injury after he had played 6 minutes.

MSU shot 13 times from outside the arc in the first 10 minutes. But they weren't hitting them, finishing 6 of 23.
Against us MSU only attempted 8 for the entire game, making 4.
MSU did not need to shoot outside to beat us. They had plenty of opportunities by spreading the floors and beating us off the dribble. One we doubled down low they found the open guy. Ate us up like a Lou Malnati pizza.

Fears did not have a big game last night. PSU kept him and those quick guards largely in check. Frankie Fiddler was the mismatch MSU was able to exploit last night (he probably accounted for several of Konan The Basketballbarian's fouls.

So I think PSU matches up well with MSU. They have quick guards and wings, decent depth (Kern is the 6th Man of the Year IMO), and some size. If Puff doesn't get hurt, PSU probably wins.

Kafka coaching lead in the 2025 Senior Bowl

Also this article….
Check out this article from USA TODAY:

Giants' Mike Kafka named head coach of Senior Bowl National Team

NIU to join Mountain West as football-only member?

The Coaches take the most money, the University takes the most money, it shouldn’t be a surprise that the players take the most money too. Yet, people sometimes blame the players!
^ ^ ^ I think this is the by-product of primacy bias (someone help me if I'm remembering that term correctly) - we've been programmed to expect high salaries for coaches and lavish facilities for years - paying players in a formal manner is the most recent development and therefore in our mental models, causing the "problem."

In reality, what I think the sport truly needs is for enough leaders to acknowledge everyone should expect coaching salaries and the extravagance of facilities to recede as players are now accessing a significant portion of the revenue that was previously split only two ways (coaches and institutions). I think putting the squeeze on donors and fans will ultimately backfire here for all but maybe 20-30 schools...but I guess we'll see.
