Travel to and from PSU is also one of the toughest trips followed up but the trip to W Lafayette so quickly after makes it really tough. Probably the toughest travel all year.Yeah but I really think the swindling of a potential victory at Penn State affected the team more then you think. When they look at the tape they will see clear bias and all of those reds should be suspended without pay
This is where the NCAA dropped the ball. Something like this could well have worked before all the horses left the barn. (I suggested something similar when NIL was looming but of course NCAA wasn't mining the Rivals Boards then and your idea will also likely be left wafting in the wind.I have an idea. NIL money should be placed in more of a trust/deferred compensation and/or vesting situation that incentivizes athletes to stay. Also because how can you expect an 18-19 year old to understand and know how to handle that kind of money and contract. These kids are already getting a full ride inclusive of living expenses and health coverage. They could get the new revenue sharing money as a stipend for those who need more travel money for themselves or families, those small % who have kids or want to help other family. But the rest of the large NIL sums should be handled differently.
And Woody Dantzler was the QB running the spread at Clemson I believe.Rodriguez didn't get the job at West Virginia until 2001, he was at Clemson 1999-2000.
He was huge in championship gameI’d take North Dakota State’s leading WR, Bryce Lance. No idea if he’ll go into the portal.
Palindrome, seriously? On 01/06/2025? 5Really agree. Getting shafted in a Thursday road game where just about the only statistic re: losing was the FT disparity (and an “inadvertent” goaltending whistle) is enough to give these guys a hangover. I cannot say I was surprised by them looking/feeling dispirated. I think days off followed by a home game will be the tonic they need to get back on track. They’re kids.
NDSU has some very good looking SR OL prospects.Wonder also if there aren’t going to be potential candidates coming out after NDSU’s championship game today.
Classes may have started but I believe students have a week or so to matriculate late. A sliver of hope for more.
I bet Dan Campbell's Wonderlic ain't off the charts......"test smarts" probably matter for a Coordinator, less so for a HC role.I believe Kafka had the highest Wonderlic score the Eagles had seen. Interesting but does it translate OC or HC
Wonder also if there aren’t going to be potential candidates coming out after NDSU’s championship game today.Looks like we got a couple of good ones so far. I don’t know if we are done already with classes starting but, last Jackrabbit follows on the NU General Manager of Roster Development and Retention from oldest to newest: Wilde, Beernsten, Clayborne, Hawthorne, Stoffel, Large, Tucker.
Tucker just added this weekend.
We got the first two. I have no idea who the others are.
One day of prep between games did not help.I did not see a whole lot of Purdue specific tactics. I did not see the help defenders do anything different when Smith had the ball. I saw mistakes like going under the pick and roll on Smith.
On the other hand I did see the "Purdue is guarding Barnelli with 3 players". They executed this very well. Their players were very aware of what they had to do. Rarely we made them pay. Leach did briefly in the beginning of the game. The first or second posession of the second half exemplified this very well: the Purdue players were sagging and Leach (I believe) hits a wide open 3 pt shot.
I am not saying with all this we did not prep the game. Just, like you say, that the execution was atrocious. Players looked confused, lacking confidence. It's easy to see good prep and execution on the Purdue side when they are killing us and not seeing it on our when we are stinking so badly.
