Gronowski to Iowa

Sullivan was quoted well before any Gronowski talk saying he was not shying away from competition or something like that - assuming this meant he expected some transfer WB to come in. Maybe he thinks he’s better. Maybe he’s fine playing a backup or running QB package role at Iowa, maybe he knows he’s injury prone and would not likely last the whole season as a starter anyway, at least not the way he likes to run.

Saints request interview with Mike Kafka for head coaching position

Does anyone know what is going on with Kafka an the Giants? He was their OC and assistant head coach then Daboll supposedly took away his role to call plays. Why? The Giants are surprisingly bringing back Daboll and the gm but it appears Kafka should be finding alternatives during the off-season. He’s still respected but this season was not a good situation for him.
The Giants are a mess similar to the Bears & Browns & Jets & Wildcats

Terrible Owners = Terrible Teams.

NU looks to find answers to offensive issues

Lou:

I'm curious if Collins seemed perplexed to you after the game.

You quote him as saying...
“You know, what happened was they were making Brooks and Nick pass the ball early and we weren’t able to capitalize with our other guys,”
and about Barnhizer specifically...
“Tonight again, he gets two free throws and he's driving the ball, and again…I’ve got to figure that out because we’ve got to find ways to get to the line and get some easy baskets.”

I know it’s out of context, but this implies some uncertainty in addressing what had just happened on the court.
Very clearly calling out the refs with the Barnhizer comments. Heard very similar post PSU game.

My story.

It’s Fine

11-3 isn’t a lost cause. It becomes one when two of your starters add nothing on offense for the rest of the game

Talk to Collins. He's the fellow who played Nicholson a total of 7:44 after that opening segment.
He's also the fellow who played Berry a total of 12.5 minutes and only 1:07 in the 2nd half.

Meanwhile Martinelli went 0 for the first half and Barnhizer played his worst game by far.
Similarly, Collins had his worst game of the year - by quite a bit.

Its bizarre to me that people would try to pin the loss on Berry and Nicholson because they didn't score in 13 minutes or so each. Well, maybe not bizarre - just waaaaay off.

Sign Of The Times

Only if we can keep them in the fold. If they keep leaving with one or two years of eligibility remaining it does not work so well, Especially since they often are more developmental projects that take an extra year or so of development to be effective
It's funny, I made that comment what now seems like a million years ago. A factor that I had not considered - grad transfers.

Even when we are operating at a relatively high level - like if we could consistently achieve 8-9 win seasons, I think we will always be in danger of losing top-shelf talent who want to spend their last year of eligibility (after graduation) testing the market for their worth and maybe chasing a playoff bid. That will permanently be a problem for us in this new frontier, and there will always be playoff-caliber programs ready to take them from us.
