@NJCat - I agree with you based on the current system where only conference champs are eligible to earn a bye. If that incentive goes away, the B1G and SEC title games cease to have competitive value, because in all likelihood the four teams who would be playing in them are virtually guaranteed to make the playoff whether they win or not.Except teams playing in them seem to value them. I didn't see anyone sitting out a Championship game to be healthy for the playoffs, and UGA got hurt big time as a result. Championship games were also better attended than the Quarterfinals, FWIW.......
It’s an interesting take. But college football is still dwindling at the youth level in America. Kids don’t want concussions- they want a different type of impact these days.I have the opposite take on this. The fans that NU does have are the best. Who else could have so many bad years and still do as well as NU in drawing fans. And from a much smaller base that is not primarily located where the school is.
Grownowski should get multiple offers including Iowa. Stone looks like a stud too.
Both are one season rentals. Braun & Lujan are likely happy as heck rn
Grownowski should get multiple offers including Iowa. Stone looks like a stud too.1) Gronowski got a lot of NIL money from SDSU to come back there, plus he was going for a 3-peat that would’ve put him on the Mount Rushmore of all-time FCS greats.
2) Gronowski didn’t enter the portal until after Stone had committed to NU. I’m sure we would have recruited him had he entered before or simultaneously with Stone.
There are things about the NBA game I don't like, but one thing I do like is that not every slight bit of contact, especially away from the basket, is a foul. Last night, even the slightest caress was a foul. But, as Bardo pointed out - Northwestern needs to back off from Ace Baldwin and make him make a jump shot. Stop getting up on him and using hands to slow him down when he tries to go by.
I thought that was a solid observation.
Dave Revsine read it outloud at some point later in the evening, during one of the other games or the wrap-up afterwards.
- Where can one see this Big Ten statement you are referencing, PurpleWhiteBoy?
- This is where it's a judgment call: "Basket interference occurs when a player... Causes the basket or backboard to vibrate when the ball is... in the cylinder"... both Penn State players hit the rim / backboard, and particularly given the way the rim was contacted by #14 (he hits the rim straight on and then his hand slides along the front side of the rim to the left) and the ball being in the cylinder at that time, the refs could have made that judgment call (which would have matched the result that was actually the fair result -- no one can say with a straight face the whistle at 6.1 actually affected the result of the play)
Ole Lane took out his anger on the Dookies last night......I don’t care what they do, as long as Lane Kiffin gets an automatic bid to the playoffs whenever he has an over 500 squad.
