Our Next Opponent is DePaul

DePaul has some extreme tendencies as a team - they are 10th in the country at % of shots taken from 3 and 14th in the country at limiting 3s by opponents. They are also 3rd in the country at assists per made FG, so they will be passing it around a ton to find an open shot, which our defense usually facilitates as well. As Hungry mentioned, they turn the ball over a ton but don't force many on defense.

Enright at PG plays in a very spastic manner, and his assist/turnover ratio is 2:1; he's 17th in the country in assist rate, though he does turn it over a ton as well.

All of their players are threats to shoot 3s except backup center NJ Benson. Skogman's shot motion reminds me of Shurna a bit.

New recruits -lack of comments

This remains my only objection. I genuinely miss the coverage of the portal this time of year.

As for the transfers, Farrell isn’t a big impact get for 2025, he’s a young player they must have liked out of school. He’s not some mega recruited guy or a big contributor on an awful Stanford team, so we’ll just have to see.

OT Xavier Gray was the big impact guy along with Karlaftis. All CUSA guy from a good program stepping up to presumably be an immediate P2 starter.

Karlaftis is clearly coming in to be an impact guy, but I’m not sure if it’s one I’m excited about. He was a central figure on, but not a standout within, a genuinely pathetically dreadful defense. However, we probably just need to trust Braun and McGarigle on this one. It certainly qualifies as acquiring an intended starter.

Hoping Yanni will benefit from a fresh start.
