Sullivan the better QB at IA scrimmage?

The hardest part about NU are getting in —- and then paying for it.

It’s a bad look to trash excellent schools, such as the University of Iowa.

Spoken like an NU grad.

Iowa checks in at 93 in U.S. News and World Reports rankings.

The University of Iowa has an acceptance rate of 86%.

If NU’s offense was ranked 93, I doubt you would refer to it as “excellent”.

How many wins?

I picked six wins.

First time seriously looking at the schedule, and the season will obviously be made or broken on the four game stretch after Seattle.

I marked down Duke as a loss, because of course I did.

I think six is the low-end tho. NU makes a bowl again.
Me too, 6 wins. I hope I’m pleasantly surprised. I also marked Duke down as an L because we lose to them a lot.

It is not unusual to have a department that offers both BA and BS degrees that meet the needs of students with varied interests. There can be even more options at the graduate level.
That is confusing that there is such little difference. In one case a language requirement and in one case a class on research methods. And there is no BS option for RTVF anymore? My son ended up choosing Syracuse for a dual BS in TVRF and in the business school.

We are less than a week away from the home opener for the CATS and the main topic on this forum seems to be Sullivan and Iowa. And it's been that way for a long time.

Who cares? He transferred and now he is their 2nd string QB. I just don't get this ongoing interest in a previous player.

Can we please start talking about our team and its players. There has been virtually nothing on either subject. Very unusual for this close to the season beginning.

I wouldn't say people here are trashing the University of Iowa.
However it is a fact that the NU degree generally carries significantly more weight to employers.
So, as I have always said, scholarship athletes who transfer out of Northwestern without getting their undergrad diploma (with some exceptions) were making a mistake career-wise. NIL changes that and reduces one of NU's advantages.

Sullivan got his diploma. Congratulations to him.
Like Ryan Young, Robbie Beran and many others who played, got their diploma and went somewhere else for grad school, I wish them the best.

However, I would not describe University of Iowa as an "excellent" university. Excellent is about as high as you can go. Excellent (to most people) means Top 10, Top 20, Top 25 maybe even Top 50 if you want to be generous. It costs about half of what Northwestern costs to attend. Plenty of talented kids go there - often because of their family economics. Iowa is a good value compared to many alternatives. But overall, University of Iowa doesn't measure up to Illinois, Purdue or Wisconsin, to name a few.
