Coach Smith

Lot of caveats.....didntn play dline, didnt sleep at a Holiday Inn Express, it has not been B10 play ...but sure seems like we have had a lot of the dline in the opposing teams backfield..and just looks to my naked eye that these guys are all more technique sound , beating other teams oline guys with one on one moves...gotta think it is the coaching... now if it continues into B10 play I will be a happy camper.

You all are out of control. Lujan made one awful play call on 3rd and short. He is 29YO and called a nice game

Our posters prove yet again what message board geniuses look like.

Lujan made one awful decision or playcall - and it looked like a busted play at that.

Otherwise he called a really nice game in the wind. Our Cats had several opportunities to win it in crunch time.

I’m feeling much better about this season. We can run the ball with an identity. I am now improving my projection for this season from 3-9 to 5-7.

The B1G is softer than usual, and if Lujan works out then we have an incredible roster & staff.

Was Pete Carroll’s OC’s career over after not giving the ball to Marshawn Lynch? Probably not. Maybe it was, I need to research it to confirm either way.

Bowl Game Braun!!! He is a gem, and I hope Lujem is too.

Absence of Divisions in Power 4

Just curious how people feel about the absence of divisions in the Power 4 and how long you/we think that condition will last.

I think the abolition of divisions is a reaction to the *previous* format of the College Football Playoff, but I think it will be less than four years before we see a return of them for two reasons:

1. Conference championships matter less than they ever have in the era of a 12-team playoff. The peril of championship mismatches and upsets no longer threaten a conference's whole postseason existence.
2. "Traditional powers" won't thrive for very long in this "all or nothing" environment. They need banners to hang and can't go years and years without them...even/including us.

Northwestern offers 2026 CPL star WR Nasir Rankin

I talked to Chicago (Ill.) Morgan Park star Nasir Rankin about his offer from Northwestern, his recruiting timeline and trying to break the mold at a Chicago Public League power.

In defense of Wright

The scoop on Wright was he's fast but inaccurate. Our coaches knew this and more when after watching a ton of film from his play at Vandy and MSU tendered the invite. Inspite of his shortcomings he beat Hydroxide and was on the brink of an overtime win against Duke when Lujan ran a brain dead play on 3rd and one. Wright also didn't miss a FG which would have won it in regulation.. I hope the coaches are sitting him as an object lesson in valuing the ball with the intention of starting again especially if Lausch falters today.

Indiana

I didn't watch Indiana's game against UCLA, but I did watch the UCLA game a week earlier against Hawaii and UCLA is a bad team right now. So my advice is the jury is still out on Indiana. Indiana did make a very smart decision, however, on getting Rourke who is an experienced, competent QB.
