Another frustrating outing by the Cats leaves them running out of chances to reach bowl-eligibility. The defense was effective until it was worn down by the Badgers last week. The offense regressed after an encouraging showing @ Maryland.

This week, NU travels to Iowa to face a team that is down from its strong season last year but that seems to have found an offense, so predicting a low-scoring game isn't as easy as it once was. But the game is afoot (hoping Luke has a better game, too)....so:

We need to do the usual things that have been discussed before on this board. The lowering of admissions for athletes, NIL money (Jackson is a step in the right direction) and the allure of NU degree from a top 10 university. These policies haven't hurt Duke so I don't see any issues with damaging of the academic reputation. As the famous Nike phrase says Just Do it!!

From the schedule there is no game listed for 11/9/24 but not listed as a bye. Don't recall that happening before (at least not in a long time)

We all agree that there are too many d*mn sports gambling ads, but also, the evidence is pretty clear that legalized gambling decreases savings, increases bankruptcies, and even increases domestic violence.
