Jim O’Donnell wrote about NU again

I hear Memphis is a wonderful place. 🙏

OT: NU Women's Softball

Just heard on a BTN interview of Coach Drohan, that Ashley Miller, NU's star pitcher recruited from Michigan State as a graduate, is a student at Kellogg. So I guess it is possible to recruit a key player at the same time they are admitted to Kellogg. Those tickets likely don't grow on trees but it is a great one to keep in a back pocket. Better than NIL.

Seriously

Ok, keeping this on the Rock, but what is with the mega sensitivity here on these boards? It’s difficult to even follow threads around here or understand what posters are referring to with the onslaught of post deletions and thread removals. Just read another That ABSOLUTELY was germane to NU sports and someone questions or dislikes the topic and it disappears like Miller Kopp in crunch time!

Normally, we wouldn’t be discussing the President or even much on the AD. However, the campus environment both within the university and the athletic department can impact a schools ability to attract and retain students. This includes athletes. This doesn’t even touch on donor support. The administration has repeatedly demonstrated the inability to navigate tough waters. It keeps coming up because they consistently top themselves with poor decisions that has portrayed NU in a poor light. No one can possibly think this administration is seen favoring by the public as the media is pounding them. Not good, even for NU sports and that’s the reason for this site. I don’t know why talking about that incompetence is taboo to some.

I realize this will likely be deleted to. However, posts seem to disappear when they fly counter to the opinion of people behind the Wizard curtain. This isn’t Rant board material getting deleted. It is posts that can at least be debated to have an impact on NU Sports. Don’t think that is true, ask the parents of the ATHLETES. No name calling , no offensive words or images, no reason to delete. It’s frustrating to think you follow the “rules” ( as loosely based as they are) and poof you get scolded like a child that spilled their milk.

Bizarre Jim O'Donnell Gragg Column

Stumbled upon this today:
"Rumors have been crescendoing" Gragg is departing — but a pretty clear rejection by NU spox.

"Multiple sources touching some very high places have been indicating that Gragg is leaving" isn't exactly the type of thing a trustworthy journalist usually says about their sources.

"Gragg was said to be eyeballed for recent AD openings at Washington and Missouri." Eyeballed by who? Himself in the mirror?

Don't know to what to make of it.

FOOTBALL UPDATED: SDSU QB Mark Gronowski

South Dakota State quarterback Mark Gronowski probably won't be coming to Northwestern, according to a source. "Northwestern is not in the cards for him," were the exact words used.

The graduate QB is expected to transfer to a Power Five school rather than stay at SDSU, where he has won two national championships. But it doesn't appear that he will follow in the footsteps of his SDSU offensive coordinator, Zach Lujan, who will be named the new OC at Northwestern according to multiple media reports.

I'm trying to find out more about the situation before I engage in any speculation, and keep in mind that things can always change. But this is certainly a disappointing development. His transferring to Northwestern would have made a lot of sense, given that he already knows and has thrived in Lujan's system.
