Collins top candidate for Wake

Just playing the devils' advocate?? Somebody had to say it??

Especially with the changes coming in transfer rules and sponsorship opportunities, the quality of an NU degree may become a greater asset with recruits. Like how Bob Knight used to get players by telling them he would make them miserable, but better.

He has had three losing seasons out of three at UWM ... even if getting his son were a lock, Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz's college seasons prove one superstar recruit isn't everything.

Of course, but hasn't the narrative been that this team just needed more experience?

Boo, Berry, Audige, Beran, Kopp, Nance, Young and Nicholson should make for a team that's somewhere btwn the NIT and the bubble.

Add PBJ to the mix and then were talking what should be a Tourney team.

Add another talented player to that class and we're talking a deeper run.

W/ the addition of Dwayne Wade, Marquette went from a 15-14 record to a 26-7 and then 27-6 record (w/ a run to the FF).

Don't think Duke or Vandy recruit using NCAA minimums.

Sure they do.

For example, 1/4th of Dook's schollie allotment for FB was reserved for recruits w/ the minimum NCAA standards.

Didn't necessarily mean that they filled all those slots w/ such recruits, but were willing to do so if it came to that.

IMO the student body is less diverse than its ever been. Not just talking about skin color. As the school has become more selective, it seems to choose the same type of kid whether from Beijing, Santa Monica or Naperville. I'd argue that a the kids on campus would learn more about the world if NU worked to bring in a more diverse population.

NU has had an outreach program to Chicagoland high schools in more challenging neighborhoods for some time now.
