This is the third installment in the series highlighting coach Fitzgerald's failures the last time NW played Tennessee.
This third installment will again show Fitzgerald, the quarterback of the defense, leading his team to the fake. Upon closer scrutiny we do see some differences though.
First of all, we notice at the beginning Fitzgerald is the closest he will ever get to the ball on this play.
Second of all, we hear on the field mic him telling his defensive end to make a tackle for once, even pointing at him for effect. We also see his defensive end get angry and point back at him to make a tackle for once.
Third of all, just before the ball is snapped, he inexplicably takes another step further away from the play demonstrating his confusion on this 3rd down play.
As the ball is snapped Fitzgerald runs out of view moving his entire front 7 further away from the ball resulting in another touchdown.

The video was made around the time Tennessee became a basketball school, under the expert guidance of Kevin O’Neill. UT (or is it TU or UT-K? I cannot memba) allowed the mediocre football program to continue for the past two decades despite lack of interest. It was pretty widely known that Bruce Pearl was going to take it over and run it as a subsidiary of Volunteer Basketball Inc, but he kind of ran afoul of the law. The eventual football turnaround is underway, with sporadic results. The progress is evidenced by their selection to play Northwestern’s prestigious and ranked football program in a bowl game this very day. They hope to be somewhat competitive.
