Pinkel Resigning at Mizzou

Has there ever been a season where so many head coaches have resigned/been fired before December? Beckman, Kill, Edsall, Beamer, Sark, Spurrier, Al Golden, am I missing anyone?

Adds a whole new dimension to the recent events on their campus with regard to the football team's role and his support. It was evident from his statements that the life of the potentially dying grad student was his main concern.

Pinkel is the greatest coach in UMissouri history. That may sound a bit like winning the sweetest lemon contest, but that program was a 20 year mess when he took over. All he did was win several B12 north divisions, attain a #1 ranking late in one season, transition the program to the SEC, and compete in 2 SEC title games. And he did it the right way, booting DGB off the team and a few other bad actors.

He is my favorite coach.
