He did the exact opposite last week, i.e., instead of running on every first down, he passed. The problem was that the wide receivers didn't catch the ball, plus Thorson's early mistake. I'm not worried about Thorson's early mistakes, he is all we have and we can't be scared.

With defenses stopping Jackson and forcing Thorson and our wr to beat them, we have no other choice, right?

The only adjustments that I can see is going to a two back set or putting Long, Vault, Anderson on the field with Jackson, even if you have to line them up at wr. And as one poster said, what's wrong with the shovel pass to Vitale? or at least letting him run on some counters. Vitale seems like he is tough to bring down.

That's all I can come up with since we are about out of tricks.

What about a screen pass to Jackson or long now and then? Iowa had great success running a couple against us. The problem is that we'd have to deceive the defense, and we can't seem to fool anybody.

We have 4 wide receivers who apparently have about 3 fingers between them - and we're throwing?

What we should do is bench the entire WR corps, and run the single wing.
