We needed a QB and Gronoswski was not yet available, Gotta take the bird in the hand over the one in the bushOr the staff wanted Stone.
Figures. They like our castoffs.
There are plenty of reasons for NU fans to dislike ND.I agree on all points excrpt for the Notre Dame hate.
Like many posters, I’m part Irish and a reformed Catholic. They are just a well reputed school trying to make it as an independent.
P$U is oblivious. How is Franklin still their head coach?
If you want to dislike him because of what he said when he left, fine. But you have no idea what he was told behind closed doors or what other signals he was being given. Apparently he felt his opportunity was closed off so he moved on. We got QBs from other schools that transferred to NU for similar reasons (Ramsey, Bryant, Wright, etc) so stop being a hypocrite,Weak. He lost the competitive and he ran away from it, make all the excuses you want, he didn’t want to compete for the job.
He waited too long and our deal with our QB was already pressed in stone...I still find it odd that Gronowski didn’t seem interested in reconnecting with Lujan by coming to NU. Should that tell us something about Lujan? Or was Gronowski still undecided about entering the portal when Stone became available? I suppose we’ll never know.
I’m thinking Sullivan was more pissed at being thought of as lesser than Lausch and might not be as offended with having to compete with and play behind Grownowski, but that’s just speculationSullivan runs from competition - as we saw with us. I’d be shocked if he doesn’t bail on Iowa.
He WAS better than Macnamara for them. Neither could pass, at least Sullivan had healthy legs for awhile.
And Happy Valley, South Bend, and the like are?I have always felt that schools like Illinois and Indiana could not attract great coaches and players (you need both to win) because of their locations. Champaign and Bloomington are just not great places to live, sort of out of the way in rural areas. NIL has changed all that. Show me the money is what matters and not the schools location.
He WAS better than Macnamara for them. Neither could pass, at least Sullivan had healthy legs for awhile.I was in the stands when Iowa fans cheered Sullivan replacing McNamara. Tried warning them, they wouldn’t listen.
Despite that poor stat line, I heard that they incredibly called Ty Berry for another foul on him again in that game too. That could be right - Ace Baldwin played like he was injured.
15 minutes. 0 for 6 from the floor. 0 free throws. 3 turnovers.
But then the TV contracts expire in 2026 after the money teams like Boise State have left the MWC. I hope NIU did its homework! They will make substantially more in the MWC.

That could be right - Ace Baldwin played like he was injured.I was just flipping around and saw that Ace was on the bench, and had gotten injured on the opening play? Ouch.
Also, figured it was a matter of time until Illinois got it figured out - just so much talent on that squad.
I agree. A player like him is thinking past graduate studies which I imagine are fairly demanding at NU. Besides that, NU picked up a prized QB already.
A few other possibilities come to my mind. They may have been effective co-workers but perhaps not pals. He may have preferred the Iowa academic workload to NU's, or he may have preferred a more consistent winner than our rebuild.
