Liberty University does not have much of a reputation for anything good.
Really agree. Getting shafted in a Thursday road game where just about the only statistic re: losing was the FT disparity (and an “inadvertent” goaltending whistle) is enough to give these guys a hangover. I cannot say I was surprised by them looking/feeling dispirated. I think days off followed by a home game will be the tonic they need to get back on track. They’re kids.Yeah but I really think the swindling of a potential victory at Penn State affected the team more then you think. When they look at the tape they will see clear bias and all of those reds should be suspended without pay
Maybe the incredibly high price tickets, the changes to the college game, the lack of confidence in the athletic department, or the sting of the hazing scandal. Over the years, NU has lost its fanbase with so many issues with the AD job, fielding teams that were inferior to those at other B1G schools, and pricing itself out of the range of some of its loyalist fans. I think this year they got a bit greedy after one successful season and next year’s schedule features only one traditional rival game at home (Purdue). If I was the AD, I would try to win back the previous fans by slashing home ticket prices and offering a welcome back package to those who did not renew tickets the last two years. Maybe include bonus points to all ticket holders for next year. If they don’t, I fear the first year on New Ryan Field could be a disaster. How would it look if you spent so much money on a new stadium and only half filled it? Take the short-term financial loss and regain the trust of the fans and then raise prices once the stadium is filled. As an example, for anyone who were season ticket holders in the last decade, offer 20% off the season ticket price in 2026 if they buy season tickets in 2025 and a guarantee of no price hikes for 3 years in the new stadium to all season ticket holders? I think it is time to stop trying to milk the fans for every penny.Yep. The lakeside stadium looked incredible on TV but talk about a bizarre solution to host a major minor league football brand from the Big Ten
I wasn’t sure about that. Still, players get to campus early Friday morning and head to West Lafayette on Saturday. Not much recovery or practice time after a mentally and physically exhausting game. That’s tough when you have been playing once a week at home. It's a charter flight. No biggie.
Agree with that, what gives? We aren’t going to win games when we have 2 starters both in their 5th year in the program that combined for 0 points, 2 Rebounds, and 1 Assist for a game.
Hey now. We have stolen our fair share of ND players. Lausch, Kustok, and Roehl (DJ XONIC)Notre Dame for sure. PSU at least gives conference bragging rites. ND gives nothing other than stealing our players
I believe the game is at 11am, which seems just too early for a basketball game. Much prefer a late afternoon or night game.Nusports says 11am or 330pm CST...
Right. Except there’s nothing that says the MSU transfer who hardly played as a freshman was better than the returning ASU freshman who hardly played as a freshman. Similar recruiting rankings. Dillingham was the head coach who signed Rashada.Only one QB plays. That one guy gets all the snaps, fame, attention, glory, and fortune.
The other guy gets nothing.
The starting job is everything.
Rashada is back in the portal after serving as Georgia’s third stringer this year.
He transferred when ASU brought in someone to compete with him (Sam Leavitt, MSU, same class) and now is transferring because he’s behind Stockton at Georgia.
It’s a shame that so many kids don’t want to compete for a role. He could’ve spent a year handing to Skattebo, getting better as the year went on, and playing in the CFP. (Leavitt was…fine this year. Rashada could’ve competed and won, unless he was ‘asked to leave’ for being me-first.)
Oh well.
He’s gotten lots of bad advice. I still hope he wins his lawsuit.
Zero positive in that game. Not making that argument. But it was a tough game coming off a brutal loss. We didn’t show up. We weren’t competitive. But just a bad day. Regroup. Move on. Have a good week of practice.
It makes our margin of error smaller, but I actually feel better about this than the PSU game. Sometimes you’re just off. We have a veteran club that won’t carry that over to next weekend.
He needs to stop shooting, the coaching staff needs to tell him to stop shooting. He has too many soft fouls too that end up in “and 1s.” Definitely a high energy guy for the Cats, but not sure why he gets the minutes he does. He's had long enough to prove that he can make it, and he can't. So, now it becomes just another empty possession.
It's a charter flight. No biggie. From what I remember seeing traveling in and out of State College is a nightmare for visitors. Going down to Purdue not so bad but the PSU trip really takes it out of the players
Illinois also have had one home game and three road games including a two game swing to the west coast.I find it funny that the schedule gurus every year find a way to screw us Maybe I’m just being pessimist but your first four conference games got one home game out of the four.
He's had long enough to prove that he can make it, and he can't. So, now it becomes just another empty possession. He probably hits it well enough in practice and they want him to continue to attempt it thinking it will add a dimension and make it more difficult to defend allowing openings for others
