Rashawn Slater heading to the Pro Bowl

I bought the NFL Ticket just to see the Chargers & Lions games. I watch Slater on every offensive play. His footwork and technique are exceptional.

I saw on one site, he was rated #2 in NFL , behind Trent Williams but in another he was # 9 OT , even behind Penei Sewell , who plays right tackle

Without the package, I would be stuck with Jaguars, Falcons or Panthers
Sewell is an athletic freak. Just a joy to watch.

I’ve not seen Slater this year at all. Exciting that he’s healthy and dominant. Harbaugh only wins.

Collins Post Game Press Conference

Collins exceptionally calm and deferential. Wonder if he hasn’t seen the tape or if he’s putting on an act because he has to. And if that act is smart/beneficial. Not sure.
Who knows for real, but in the clip above Collins says specifically that he hasn't seen the tape and just has to trust that the three guys at the monitor got it right.

Was it last year CC went nuts near the end of the game on the baseline and in the face of a ref at Purdue? I felt like the NU paid for that for a few games.

It's obvious refs talk and they have long memories. It's never worth it to show them up ... unless MAYBE it does something for your team.
That was Courtney Green. Interestingly, that game was the 4th NU game he had called last year out of 47 total games this far - but then he did not ref another NU game the rest of the season, despite calling 33 more games including 11 conference games, 3 conference tourney games, and two at Barclay's during the tournament. He has not called one this season either so far.

The Rant Board

But, as Bardo pointed out - Northwestern needs to back off from Ace Baldwin and make him make a jump shot. Stop getting up on him and using hands to slow him down when he tries to go by.

I thought that was a solid observation.
It's a bullshit "observation" when defenders on Ace aren't even touching him and he initiates contact to draw the foul while at the same time, PSU - including ACE - are defensively putting two hands on Cats players all night long with no calls.

Bardo was just trying to find some justification for the terrible officiating he clearly wasn't willing to mention. I suspect the announcers are contractually obligated to not discuss the refs in any negative way regardless what is happening.

He could more honestly have said 'the Cats should know by now that the refs will call a foul on them if they get within three feet of Ace and they should just let him score at will to avoid more free throws.'

Yes was last year…..tremendous ejection.

Maybe the bye in the playoffs isn't an advantage.

Except teams playing in them seem to value them. I didn't see anyone sitting out a Championship game to be healthy for the playoffs, and UGA got hurt big time as a result. Championship games were also better attended than the Quarterfinals, FWIW.......
@NJCat - I agree with you based on the current system where only conference champs are eligible to earn a bye. If that incentive goes away, the B1G and SEC title games cease to have competitive value, because in all likelihood the four teams who would be playing in them are virtually guaranteed to make the playoff whether they win or not.

Poll: which is the least loyal fanbase in the Big Ten?

I have the opposite take on this. The fans that NU does have are the best. Who else could have so many bad years and still do as well as NU in drawing fans. And from a much smaller base that is not primarily located where the school is.
It’s an interesting take. But college football is still dwindling at the youth level in America. Kids don’t want concussions- they want a different type of impact these days.
