Indiana’s offense

Wow. Amazing stat. 9-0 in that stretch at Ryan Field.
Many of them head scratchers from this poster’s standpoint. I’ll never forget the week after NU’s big OSU win, the ‘Cats doinked FG to force OT in ‘04, a game IU led most of the way, followed by Baz’s desperation back pedaling TD throw amongst 4 Hoosiers in, I think, OT #2, saying afterwards he thought it was 4th down so he just threw it up!!

Or, in ‘07, when IU in control late 2nd qtr, only for Lynch to inexplicably put in Ben Chappell for 1 play, subbing out Kellen Lewis for no reason. Chappell threw to the right flat for an NU pick 6, totally changing the momentum of the game. Cats win close one, again.

Finally, the worst…in ‘09, IU gets up 28-3 in first half. In total control. Late-3rd quarter, with NU having cut it to 28-15, I believe, Lynch forgoes a FG near the goal line. NU keeps IU out of the end zone. Cats come all the way back. IU barely misses a 60-yard FG for the win.

Hope to have no such drama next Saturday

OT: Legalizing Sports Gambling Was a Huge Mistake (Atlantic)

Interesting comments... I was having a similar conversation with a friend, who asked me if I bet on sports.
My response?
Well, I used to, when it was illegal. Once they legalized it, it wasn't cool anymore.

But the truth is that I got married, had kids and stopped gambling on sports. Doesn't stop me from making predictions or assessing probabilities of outcomes. (And I still bet on horse races every now and then)

This week, I was pretty confident that Illinois would keep it fairly close against Penn State, who was favored by 17.5 or 18.
That line jumped off the screen at me, when I was scanning point spreads for a few minutes. Illinois lost 21-7. I bet nothing. No big deal.

College kids get bombarded by the online sites with free betting opportunities - open an account, get $200 to bet.
Clearly the same tactics as those used by the typical heroin dealer. I would say that is a troubling similarity.
I put so much VC money in my pocket on those signup deals and I don’t even live in a legalized state. Thousands.

The Mojo Moose have Returned with a Vengeance - Hopefully Air Willie Won't Nullify Their Efforts This Time

The backstory regarding the above linked YouTube Video as just posted:
I was in my driveway loading winter tires into my vehicles when I heard a loud crashing sound and glanced up to see two huge Bull Moose charging up the driveway toward me.
I turned and ran for my life dropping the house key I was holding in the process. Fortunately the door remained unlocked. (I wasn’t so lucky earlier in the year when I had confronted a bear while I was watering the lawn.)
Here is my video of their continued battle as I captured it from the safety of my deck. After retreating from my driveway, the two have become locked together with their horns.
Finally one spins the other to the ground where he pins him and holds his opponent in place to establish who is the victor. No effort is made to inflict injury. Both huge Bull Moose then amble away peacefully.
Horns Locked:

Went back to check the security camera recording and located these scenes from when the Fighting Bull Moose were advancing up toward where I was positioned behind the vehicle on the left on the driveway:
