Adam Smith: Supply And Demand

From and Athletic article by Mandel:

You get to pick one Northwestern home game. Are you going to the temporary on-campus stadium or Wrigley? — Orange dot Steve

Oh, definitely Northwestern Medicine Field. I’d want to be part of the ultra-exclusive club that gets one of those 15,000 seats. The cheapest ticket on StubHub for the Wildcats’ Oct. 19 Wisconsin game is currently $188 — $12 more than it costs to get into the Badgers’home game against Alabama.

The school should use this in every Economics 101 course on supply and demand.

Anyone up to speed on Miami OH?

This is a bit extreme re Miami OH as a CFP contender. The game will likely be very competitive because a) it's Week 1 and b) neither team is likely going to be very good.

Say what you want about SP+ as a predictor, but Miami (OH) starts the season at 80th (NU at 75th). Both teams are projected to have very bad offenses (117 for NU and 118 for Miami).

Miami OH may go 11 - 2, but that's only because the MAC has gradually become atrocious over the past decade. FWIW, I very much think this game is a toss-up (16-14 one way or the other seems to be on the mark), but that's more because I'm not particularly high on NU.
I hope to god we aren’t 117th offensively.

Anyone up to speed on Miami OH?

This is typical NU fandom. It’s so predictable that the fanbase worries about every team. Some of this is understandable with the previous debacles we have all seen.

Miami of Ohio is a good team, but we should absolutely expect to win. I don’t care if they are MAC favorites. A “good” B1G team should be able to beat any MAC team. End of story. We will find out if we are a good B1G team on Saturday. A good showing will likely result in a good year. Loss at home and I believe it will be a long year. Win the game!
Sorry but Miami of Ohio is a solid team. And we really don't know much about our O from which QB is starting to having an new OLC (also a lot of changes on OL) and OC. So hope to win sure but expect to at this point is pretty hard
