NMF at MS Tour

That event design/build company must have one hell of an engineering staff and access to custom suppliers. The construction crew isn't too shabby either. To get through the design process with NU and then to get permitted is impressive. Kudos also to the City of Evanston that must have set a permit speed record. There is so much customization in that facility and at least on film everything looks new.

That would be an interesting firm to work for. Lots of travel, lots of fun events and people.

Miami Tickets

So...here's my question for anyone who knows or feels like engaging in message board speculation:

For parking, we have been assigned to our last choice - the South Garage (which was a bit humbling as a 20-year season ticket holder who donates every year). Assuming tailgating in this space is either very limited or prohibited altogether, am I right that my options are either:

1. Make some new tailgating friends in another lot, or
2. Pay an entry fee just to get into the restricted lawn area where I think pay for food and bev at retail prices, or
3. Not tailgate at all?

Anyone up to speed on Miami OH?

A good buddy of mine is a big MAC guy (NIU fan). He says that Miami OH is a legit CFP contender out of the Go5 so this will be a very tough opener. They have a great defense - as I believe we do. I’m expecting a low scoring battle that likely comes down to the kickers which should give us a very, very slight edge. Feels like NU 16-14. Just win, baby.

Notebook: Braun stays tight-lipped about starters ahead of season opener

I think football won't be increasing scholarship numbers and instead will be under pressure to reduce. The reason is that other sports also are seeing increased scholarship limits per the new NCAA guidelines and will be looking to add. For example, lacrosse, softball and field hockey have been highly successful but to maintain their success likely believe they need more scholarships. NU has a finite budget on what it is willing to spend on athletics and undoubtedly they will be looking to keep overall scholarship costs the same.
Will be interesting to see how this affects NU. Could see big increases for field hockey, lacrosse and swimming. The allowed increases are massive. For a cost of attendance over $90K per year, 20 scholarships is almost $2 million per year. Although maybe these are full tuition scholarships and not full cost of attendance.
