This is funnyUSC win would be a boost for NU’s playoff chances.
Even funnierIt would be funny if Fleck was the only week one loser.
Biased, but I feel like he gets 100 less yards w Coco out there. Also the Purdue guy that had 900 yards rushingCasey Washington of Illinois
Expanded field, clear power 2, who knows? 🤷♂️🤔🤷♂️😀🏆🤷♂️😁😁
Also I might be crazy but... is this not arguably the best coaching staffs from top to bottom that the Big Ten has had in a long time?
I think pretty much every staff outside of UCLA (for obvious reasons given the offseason exit of Kelly) is solid whereas a couple of years ago I would have pointed to like 4 or 5 schools with coaches that were really questionable hires.
Maryland, Rutgers, Illinois, Minnesota, Indiana appear to have competent staffs at the same time, I'm pretty sure that didn't happen at any other point since Maryland/Rutgers joined the Big Ten.
(Yeah I know some haven't been at their spots for a long time like Nebraska or us or Indiana, but I feel more confident in the overall staffs than I perhaps ever have in this conference).
I think part of it is the takeaways are simple and obvious (wow that front seven and those backers are good, the secondary was young but gained confidence before our eyes, the offense flashed potential but shot itself in the foot repeatedly too) but the projection of it is unclear (Miami is a genuinely good defense and sharp team, but it’s unclear how it’ll translate against teams with more P2 talent even if they’re less clean as Miami).
Also I might be crazy but... is this not arguably the best coaching staffs from top to bottom that the Big Ten has had in a long time?I think the score wipeouts are reflective of NIL. I don't recall so many 50-0 type blowouts since before scholarship numbers were cut. Zero upsets this weekend. Very unusual.
Well, yesterday one did go into the end zone, however, those that didn't and were run back frequently were stopped well short of the 25. So I guess my question would be which result do you prefer?

Since last season occasionally I would watch replays of games during the 2023 and consistently NU's opponents were starting out 10 yards further upfield than NU.
Speaking of upsets...I believe we can beat Michigan this season. Anybody watch their game? Very average. And I think our d is as good as theirs. Our qb possible better. Fresno not so good.I think the score wipeouts are reflective of NIL. I don't recall so many 50-0 type blowouts since before scholarship numbers were cut. Zero upsets this weekend. Very unusual.
I thought that Wright's throws had plenty of zip. I never felt that the sideline throws were pick 6s waiting to happen. Perhaps I have low standards for zip as some NU QBs had noodles for arms.
The QB-center exchange will get cleaned up so I am encouraged by the offense going forward.
Special teams play was solid across the board. A kickoff landed in the end zone and coverage was smoothering. Obviously the missed FG was disappointing.
