I was a big fan of Sully and hoped he'd grow into the job.

One game comparison
1) Sully seemed almost obsessed with accuracy, hold it too long etc. But anyway more accurate than Wright. Mike dropped a couple of dimes but had several WTH throws.
2. Both are "mobile QBs" but Wright is a step level improvement.
3. Wright's pocket presence is great. He looks as calm as a day at the beach. He moves out when he wants to, not because of panic.

Wright looks better after one game
I mentioned it in the game thread. Wright’s touchdown run showed complete control. He read his top two targets, then scrambled into the seam because it was there.

Sullivan always looked panicked. His pocket presence was very unpolished. Happy happy feet.

NU 13 Miami 6 - game thoughts

IMHO, Wright looked really strong. Runs like a deer. Didn't hit the deep passes but moved the safeties back a step or two. Looks like NU will use plenty of WRs. That can catch.

D was prepared and motivated.

Sometimes it's hard to be an NU fan, like when the center surprises the QB with the snap and turns it over to stop a promising drive and when the NU QB squiff's a snap to turn it over on the opponents' one, but NU fans have seen spirit-crushing misplay like this for decades and can not be discouraged.

The team looks exciting.

And we gained some (Mike Wright). It happens.

Biggest complaint about the stadium

Yeah, crazy that the main scoreboard did not have down & distance. We don’t need the game score up there the whole time to the detriment of the down & distance.

Sound was nonexistent. I viewed that as a plus though.
Or time. But usually on tv screen al three are easily displayed. Having one does not mean you can't display the other info

Lakefront experience

Was really hoping to see a slomo of campus starting from the north. NU should make sure that gets some air time every game. Ryan Fieldhouse is a spectacle and should also get a minimum of 15 seconds itself every game.

As little as could be seen of the lake, it is a spectacular background.

No doubt will attract a lot of students too lazy to get to Dyche-Ryan. Not to mention the team looks like it will be fun to get behind.

Biggest complaint about the stadium

Jared did a nice job. Lisa was awful. When Miami o was driving late down by ten she said they were about to score to tie the game.

But she never corrected herself.

Lisa is now an institution. She usually gets the lowest ranked game by BTN. I am so use to hearing her that it doesn't bother me anymore.

I had no idea Jared was a color guy. He was pretty good. Well spoken and just the right amount of enthusiasm.

Lakefront experience

Overall, the logistics were really impressive and especially given it was the first game at a brand new stadium.

The only real issues (from the north end zone) I saw were:

-Need the down/distance on the primary video boards. It was tough to gauge what the down and distance were. Thankfully, the PA guy was on it over the speakers for the most part, however.

-Need a better crowd flow out of the stadium after. Got a little tight/dangerous after the game as the teams were leaving. Perhaps let some people go out across the field hockey stadium? I can’t imagine the turf would get damaged.

-Better inventory for the north end zone food stands. The concession workers were super helpful at letting people know what they didn’t have so you didn’t waste time in line but would be good to have plenty of supply (waters!).

-The north side needs WiFi. The south side WiFi was solid but bandwidth was lowwwwww on the north side. First world problems, no doubt, but should be an easy fix.
Wifi on that part of campus is hit or miss , sometimes it fine , sometimes it real bad !
