Feeling very optimistic and positive after the games first half today.

This is very optimistic first half of football for our team, I refer specifically to the offense.

What I have heard every coach say going all the way back to my days in High School is you want to mix things up, you want what is referred to as a balanced offense.

With 14 yards passing and 15 yards rushing clearly this is being accomplished. Let's hope we keep it up.

What needs to happen for Braun to have the interim tagged removed?

I know this question has been asked but sitting at 4-4 and some winnable ball games coming up, I am curious to what people think, whether in the know or not. Personally I think he’s put a hell of a interview on the field to look at but there is really nothing he can do that would make me think their shouldn’t be a search. Though you could argue it would be deserved, I worry a bit that the current administration would just take the tag off with a 6-6 record.

I’d still be high on Sean Lewis but Leipold is who I would be giving a blank check to. Has Braun slid into my number 3 slot? Guy sure is making a case for himself.

Zoom In-Game Discussion: Iowa vs NU at Wrigley Saturday Nov 4 2:30 PM

If you are a Northwestern fan and watching the game on TV, you are welcome to join us for a live Zoom discussion during the game. It is usually just a few of us "more mature" fans who show up for these chats, but I have found that having others to talk to during the game makes for a better experience.

I hope to see you on Zoom on Saturday @ 2:30 PM CT

UI @ NU @ Elwood's House Prediction Thread

The Cats revived their bowl hopes by outplaying the visiting Terps last week, including a Player of the Week performance from Aidan Hubbard. Back at .500, NU hosts Iowa in a home-away-from-home game at the friendly confines of 1060 W. Addison Street. The Cats just need to split the next 4 games to go bowling...even winning one might be sufficient for an APR dance pass, given NU's high APR rating.

With NU keeping Nebraska and an aggressive Maryland offense off their season averages, and with Iowa's notorious offensive struggles, a low-scoring game seems likely.

Michael Kilbane making the most of his opportunities as a true freshman

I had an opportunity to interview Michael Kilbane after practice on Tuesday about his impact as a freshman. Kilbane logged 31 snaps, third most for a DE, and three hurries last week against Maryland, and could get a similar workload against Iowa on Saturday. I talked to him about why he stayed at NU, his redshirt status and what led to his performance as a true freshman.
