Interesting. Evidently Major League Baseball teams are allowed to call up an extra player for a double-header, as the KC Royals had today vs Minnesota. Farrell wasn't on their 40-man roster so had to be activated last night so he could pitch today.

From my perspective at a BW3, Luke looked as if he belonged but pitched in tough luck. Had a good 1st inning, struggled some with control in the 2nd. Did give up a homer & double in the 3rd and got pulled. At this moment the Royals pulled to within a run at 5-4 and there'll likely be more runs, so Luke may not be involved in the decision after all. But I'm sure his team would've like him to eat up more innings.

It was nice to see his dad John left the Red Sox and came down to Kansas City for Luke's debut. It appeared he was sitting alone in the stands without ceremony. A pretty nice day off for a big league manager to sit in another ballpark and watch as a dad.

Luke may go right back down to AAA but let's hope for another shot soon.

Another NU baseball player makes it to the bigs. As the program continues improving, we'll be seeing more!
