Game Thread: Northwestern vs. Michigan

Kirtz could have come back on that pass in the end zone and picked up a PI call. The DB had his back to the ball and didn't turn his head.

The 39 yard pass completion to Kirtz is going to look impressive to the stats geeks but that was an awful pass by Lausch. Then he throws that terrible corner route pass that hits the defender in the back, so we have to settle for the fg

I can sense Michigan scoring again before the half. Kind of standard for us.

Why play so soft again??
The dumbest coaching ever. Do NOT go for a TD there. Go for the first down. Even if you get the TD they still have two minutes.

Call a runing play. Let the clock run or make them use a TO.

Depending how close you get you can go for it or kick.

You cannot give them the ball back there. Just dumb.

Of course kickoff out of bounds is almost as bad as snapping it off your butt.

Fire both coaches now

TD play worked exactly as designed. Two guys in motion, and NU’s DBs got assignments goofed.

That drive is a real g-d killer.

Without a defensive score or TD return by Henning in the second half we have ZERO chance to come back. Pathetic. We make one of the worst passing offenses in the country look like a surgical strike team.

I mean, our offense is what it is and has been bad for a long time. But to see this poor of a gameplan and preparation by the D is just so discouraging.

The emotional decision to make Braun the permanent head coach was a mistake, but I guess we're buying time until the new stadium is ready. But this is a poorly coached team.

Terrible series there, starting with the kickoff out of bounds and ending with blown coverage at the goal line in what looked to be mam coverage.

They're supposedly terrible quarterback has completed 18 out of 23 passes actually it looks pretty good I know we're giving them a lot of easy stuff but still
But only 1 completion where the ball traveled more than 5 yards in the air. That's coaching.

Unfortunately they get the ball first to start the second half if they score on that drive it's probably game over

He was the Big10 coach of the year last season.

A much better QB and O-Line last year covered for his coaching deficiencies.

The Michigan QB is not good, yet we made him look like a Heisman candidate on that drive. Meanwhile Lausch continues to show that he’s a good athlete but not even an average QB.

The NU O couldn't succeed with 5 downs. ONE big play that was nothing but luck. They would have to climb 50 stories to reach "punchless."

Don't mind me. These guys are annoying hell out of me.

Lujan continues to disappoint. Michigan comes in with one of the best pass defenses in the country, yet there are no screen passes, moving pockets, or other ways to offset their pressure. And only one designed QB run in the first half. And Carsello keeps snapping the ball off his own fat ass or else just a scattering of low or high or end over end snaps. What a frickin joke. I would rather have Wrather at center, it’s not like Carsello is a great blocker either. Put Thompson back at right tackle. Fix the damn problem.

And yet the game would be close if the D didn't play soft on the two TD drives.

These announcers are the worst I've heard in a while. I like the BTN 3rd team over these guys.
