"Super League"

The city of Evanston will not approve of more concerts, Six was hard enough to get. Pat Ryan played football at NU! He's not building a concert arena. 35,000 has been about our high water mark for average attendance since 2000. And with every game on TV, you have to offer a unique experience which this venue will have. Fans can share season tickets. The north shore is an affluent area where fans will pay for a fun experience. Many teams that are not huge state schools or NFL franchises are downsizing their arenas and stadiums. Even baseball teams that aren't the Yankees or Dodgers have done it. That way you night create demand if the team is good.
Actually NFL stadiums are also being downsized and changing to multi-use arenas.

You don’t live in Chicago do you? ABC local news has had multiple stories about the protests and the congressional hearings. Needless to say they didn’t put NU in a favorable light.

It may surprise you, but it even made national news.

But most people don't watch the news these days and NU seems to have handled the protests better than other schools.

Actually, the Champions League is more like the FCS playoff than the FBS playoffs. The Champions League includes every European league in the playoff format, in which the lower leagues (like the SWAC or Ivy) getting just the league winner into the competition while the top leagues (SEC, BIG, ACC,....) like the EPL, La Liga or Bundesliga get 4 teams. More schools praticipate in the FCS so that is more like the Champions League. There is no comparison between Champions League and the FBS CPB playoff, which only allows a token non-Power 4 school to participate.

Would say that it's a mixture of both, being more like the FBS with a wider disparity of strength/resources among the leagues/conferences with the stronger leagues/conferences dominating the spots.

The Champions League only includes the "top flight" league of the membership nations, such as the Premier League for England/Wales.

The EFL Champion and lower English/Welsh leagues (which are more akin to FCS programs) are not participants.

Once the door has been cracked open, there's always the chance to add on.

The Spurs recently applied to nearly double the non-football events that they had been approved for at Tottenham Stadium (located in the North side of London) from 16 to 30

This added revenue stream is helping the club financially as it tries to compete against clubs owned by oil rich sovereign funds.

Having more such events will help NU athletics bridge the attendance revenue gap.

The City of Evanston may be amenable to an increase if it means a new fire truck, etc. (make it worth their while).

An apt analogy as NU tries to compete with the moneybags of semi -pro football.

^ Haha, true - but fortunately, we still have the Ryan patriarch (where would NU Sports be without him?).

While would like to see NIL limited in some way (the courts likely won't allow that to happen unless Congress steps in), Ryan mind as well set aside an amount to fund NIL (otherwise, wouldn't maximize his investment in infrastructure/facilities).

As an aside, the Missouri state legislature passed NIL legislation a few months ago that gave state institutions a leg up on NIL when it came to homegown HS athletes.
