Not beyond high school level, but I have like others been in situations that have had co-workers in close in proximity and time spent. You do tend to know a lot about others, including at times when someone commits infidelity. Sometimes others knew, other times not everyone knew, and if no one knew, one really can’t say, unless they were the person committing the act.
Obviously if it was an ongoing event then the likelihood of being discovered increases. If it’s a one or two time occursnce, less likely. Sometimes some co-workers know, but the boss is kept out of the discussion.
Meyer may have known about Smith’s office relations. He may have taken part, he may have known and ignored, or he may have no idea, but we have no way of knowing based on the public facts. As always, there are variables something in the world of social media debate is ignored in favor of absolutes.
The other questions are is what are the University regulations regarding consensual sex between Co-workers? Was it encouraged? Is it a fireable offense, and more specific to Meyer, is it a fireable offense if he didn’t fire the person?
We should know more today or tomorrow. No idea of how it will go down and my reaction will depend on what information gets released.
