Don’t make me laugh. He got his degree, represented NU to the best of his abilities on and off the field and made the choice, which was his to make, to go somewhere else where he had a better chance to play. These guys love playing football and for many of them this is their last chance to play the game they love. None of us are entitled to criticize them for making a move based on a desire to get more playing time.

Furthermore, I recently read your disgusting post regarding Kain Colter. Pound for pound Kain was probably the toughest football player to wear a Northwestern uniform in the last twenty five years and he has paid dearly for putting his body on the line while wearing a Northwestern uniform. He deserves our respect, gratitude and compassion and instead you felt compelled to pile on him while he is down. Says a whole lot about you.

??? He was getting a free education, free board, free food/nutritional guidance, free clothes. He got plenty. He was selfish and wanted the farm when essentially he had an internship (CFB). We all had unpaid internships and it didn’t hurt us at all. I’m sorry he’s had some issues post-football but perhaps if he spent less time on the sideshow he would have made a better network that could have supported him through those tribulations.

The sneak wasn’t his fault. His fault was sitting in the pocket and taking a huge sack, something we also saw. And Gill’s drop was really the most costly mistake. Sullivan threw a good ball.

you can argue that there are too many regulations (4 years of eligibility in 5 for example) but the two most impactful regulations are gone: transfer rule and NIL allow players to come and go and earn more than just free tuition. Also, players can enter into long term agreements with third parties but not the school. I am confident that will change when the athletes are designated as employees and can unionize and bargain collectively.
