Miami coach Jim Larranaga retires mid season. Cites NIL

you can argue that there are too many regulations (4 years of eligibility in 5 for example) but the two most impactful regulations are gone: transfer rule and NIL allow players to come and go and earn more than just free tuition. Also, players can enter into long term agreements with third parties but not the school. I am confident that will change when the athletes are designated as employees and can unionize and bargain collectively.

Brendan Sullivan CHOKE JOB at the Music City Bowl

What a shame! 😂 The dude quit on us because he wasn’t guaranteed the starting job. The ultimate sign of entitlement. Karma is a bitch.
He did not quit on NU. Football players want to play football. He went to a spot where he saw a path to playing football. The main reason why he committed to NU in the 1st place also was no longer at NU. He also got to play with some friends again in Iowa. Dude gave it his all here. You don’t need to post this. Bad look.

Miami coach Jim Larranaga retires mid season. Cites NIL

Jim Laranaga received a huge new contract after GMU's unexpected run to the Final Four. GMU dissolved their nationally competitive track program to pay for the contract. I dislike NIL but JL does not get my sympathy
You sure about the dissolution of the GMU track program?

You can see both the men’s and women’s team at the VCU invitational on January 12.

The more I pay attention to your posts, the more I realize what a tool you are. What a guy you are getting your jollies ridiculing former NU players.

Notes from my first trip to the "new" WRA

I just

I go to every game (I know - your happy for me) but my oldest son was with us and I kept telling him on the way over that I expected 3 thousand tops and a dead arena. I am really happy to have been so wrong.

Also, I love it was first visit to the new WR. At the last game, we were talking about the days before the '83 rehab when the place still had dirt floors. We've come a long way from having that to having one of the best places to watch hoops in the country.
Sounds as though it rivals the Palestra in Philly for crowd effect.

I was really impressed with Brooks during that press conference. He really is a future coach. His answers are so much more thoughtful than the typical player clichés.

Reporters often ask pretty dumb questions and players give mostly meaningless answers, but Brooks actually answered some of those with interesting insights. One example was when a reporter asked him basically about scoring points in transition off turnovers. Most players would give an empty answer about how it gets them going and gives them energy and other meaningless platitudes. But Brooks made the interesting point that it limits the number of times we have to go into their half-court sets which means our opponent sees less of our plays so we can use them later in the game. It may seem like an obvious point, but I've never really thought about it like that before and I've certainly never heard a player answer a question like that. He really is a basketball savant.
Son of a coach. Has been in the gym his entire life. . . much like CC
