Sounds as though it rivals the Palestra in Philly for crowd effect.I just
I go to every game (I know - your happy for me) but my oldest son was with us and I kept telling him on the way over that I expected 3 thousand tops and a dead arena. I am really happy to have been so wrong.
Also, I love it was first visit to the new WR. At the last game, we were talking about the days before the '83 rehab when the place still had dirt floors. We've come a long way from having that to having one of the best places to watch hoops in the country.
Son of a coach. Has been in the gym his entire life. . . much like CCI was really impressed with Brooks during that press conference. He really is a future coach. His answers are so much more thoughtful than the typical player clichés.
Reporters often ask pretty dumb questions and players give mostly meaningless answers, but Brooks actually answered some of those with interesting insights. One example was when a reporter asked him basically about scoring points in transition off turnovers. Most players would give an empty answer about how it gets them going and gives them energy and other meaningless platitudes. But Brooks made the interesting point that it limits the number of times we have to go into their half-court sets which means our opponent sees less of our plays so we can use them later in the game. It may seem like an obvious point, but I've never really thought about it like that before and I've certainly never heard a player answer a question like that. He really is a basketball savant.
Then he shouldn’t have bailed when the HC didn’t guarantee him the starter role. Doubt Stone was guaranteed a starters role, but he’s coming in.However, that dimension is significantly better than the dimension of NU's offense last year.
His scramble near the goal line late in the first half was amazing.
Iowa can have him. I'm not interested in a QB who can only run. However, that dimension is significantly better than the dimension of NU's offense last year.

Class won’t be in session at Purdue. Mackey will still be full, but maybe a touch less raucous than usual? The non-conference portion of NU's schedule is over, and they enter conference play at #48, putting them in solid position to make their third straight tournament with a solid conference campaign. UIC has moved up to a Quad 3 win, for what that's worth.

This week is one of the roughest of the entire conference schedule, with Quad 1 road games at Penn State (#32) and Purdue (#37).
