As long as you don’t have Indiana as “in” the NCAA tournament.
I would not be surprised to see Nebraska lose their last 5 BIG games, including at Penn State tomorrow night. Not a good team without Copeland. Shot 32 % in their home win over us, which says a lot about both them and us!
You're welcome! And here is today's edition-- the significant change from last night's close Illini loss to Wisky is that Illinois and Us swap spots in the BIG NET rankings (and yet another example f a team moving UP with a loss). No quad changes though, but either a win by the Illini or us would certainly change that...mikewebb68 - thank you for providing this on a regular basis. much appreciated!
As I said, Nebraska is really bad now. Can't score, just like us and this is a senior-dominated team that was supposed to finally get Nebby to win column in the NCAA (That's right, they have NEVER won an NCAA tournament game!)Yeah, but if they win at Penn State tomorrow night (not a longshot by any means) they are actually back in the NCAA discussion. Bubble is terribad this year...
B1G basketball is really tough to watch this week. Last night UI-UW, tonight MD-Iowa, and PU-IU just brutal offense. The PSU game is fun just because they can actually shoot the ball tonight and make buckets. Defense is great but can someone please make shots???As I said, Nebraska is really bad now. Can't score, just like us and this is a senior-dominated team that was supposed to finally get Nebby to win column in the NCAA (That's right, they have NEVER won an NCAA tournament game!)
I would like NU’s chances against Indiana or Nebby rather than the Fighting Undies at this stage of the season. No quad changes again from last night's games, but Michigan and Michigan St. and Us and the Illini swap spots in the NET rankings

Easiest remaining schedule (used teams with more home games as a tiebreaker)
1 Illinois
T-2 Penn St., Purdue
4- Us
5- Maryland
Most Difficult Remaining Schedule:
1 Nebby (STILL all quad 1s!)
2 OSU
3 Michigan
4 Michigan St.
T-5 Wisky, Minny
My tourney projections (based on current NET ranking, remaining SOS, and current trend)
NCAA-- 8 (Michigan, Michigan St. Wisky, Purdue, Iowa, Maryland, OSU, Minny)
NIT- 2 (Indiana--first four out, Nebby)
I would like NU’s chances against Indiana or Nebby rather than the Fighting Undies at this stage of the season.
You're welcome! Indiana is clearly on the bubble at this point; I have them as last 4 in, but others have them on the other side of the bubble. They key is whether the BIG, with 20 games in the top conference in the country, will be rewarded or not. As for Iowa snd Minny, I believe you may be looking at incorrect schedules, as Iowa for example, just played Rutgers and closes on the road at Nebby. Thanks for all your work on this. I do admit I am a bit confused - you are saying that Indiana with at best an 8-12 conf (17-14) record is in (winnable vs Rutg & Illini). Both Minny and dOSU would be 10-10 and 20-11. I don't care how tough conf is, there will be a lot of people unhappy about .500 conf record teams getting in. Obviously B1G tourney can make a diff.
Also, not sure how Iowa has a more difficult last 2 than Minny:
Iowa: @Wisky, Rutg
Minny: Purdue, @Maryl
We can call both road games difficult, but Purdue is certainly tougher than Rutg
If you look at their current NET and Kenpom rankings they are way too high for them to be excluded from the NIT if they finish with a winning record, imo. Just compare the KenPom from the years when we made the NIT if you are skeptical...Mike, do you really see Nebraska getting into the NIT? They'll need to beat Iowa probably to avoid an overall losing record. Since Copeland went down they have been BAD. In my opinion, the Cats' loss to them told me this team was cooked!
Yup. Just amazing strength. As for why we were not close to last, the NET hates Quad 4 losses.crazy how strong the league is this year and how NU still didn't finish last in NET
Somehow finishing 12th in NET doesn't feel better than 14th in league wins.crazy how strong the league is this year and how NU still didn't finish last in NET
KenPom too...Somehow finishing 12th in NET doesn't feel better than 14th in league wins.
