SDSU OG transfers to NU

That would be tough, as I have him on ignore.

I just think it's funny, and also a bit head-scratching, that certain Rock subscribers occasionally have nothing better to do than to come onto the free board to point out what they think the Unwashed are missing.
How you choose to spend your money is your business. My point is the lack of commentary that some bemoan on the free board is often caused by the same exact topic running it’s course a day or two earlier on the paid board.

It’s Fine

Yeah but I really think the swindling of a potential victory at Penn State affected the team more then you think. When they look at the tape they will see clear bias and all of those reds should be suspended without pay
Really agree. Getting shafted in a Thursday road game where just about the only statistic re: losing was the FT disparity (and an “inadvertent” goaltending whistle) is enough to give these guys a hangover. I cannot say I was surprised by them looking/feeling dispirated. I think days off followed by a home game will be the tonic they need to get back on track. They’re kids.

Poll: which is the least loyal fanbase in the Big Ten?

Yep. The lakeside stadium looked incredible on TV but talk about a bizarre solution to host a major minor league football brand from the Big Ten
Maybe the incredibly high price tickets, the changes to the college game, the lack of confidence in the athletic department, or the sting of the hazing scandal. Over the years, NU has lost its fanbase with so many issues with the AD job, fielding teams that were inferior to those at other B1G schools, and pricing itself out of the range of some of its loyalist fans. I think this year they got a bit greedy after one successful season and next year’s schedule features only one traditional rival game at home (Purdue). If I was the AD, I would try to win back the previous fans by slashing home ticket prices and offering a welcome back package to those who did not renew tickets the last two years. Maybe include bonus points to all ticket holders for next year. If they don’t, I fear the first year on New Ryan Field could be a disaster. How would it look if you spent so much money on a new stadium and only half filled it? Take the short-term financial loss and regain the trust of the fans and then raise prices once the stadium is filled. As an example, for anyone who were season ticket holders in the last decade, offer 20% off the season ticket price in 2026 if they buy season tickets in 2025 and a guarantee of no price hikes for 3 years in the new stadium to all season ticket holders? I think it is time to stop trying to milk the fans for every penny.

WLP - Opening

Hey guys. You know I’m I fan and think the pod is outstanding, but I do have some constructive criticism. Opening your latest pod with a list of NU transfers and being excited that they “will play for LSU!” or “be a nickel-back in the semi final!” is a little tone-deaf.

It seems like you guys are taking the “well, they graduated from NU, so let’s root for their new teams” approach. I think the fanbase isn’t there. I know I’m not, especially with ND and their former head coach. I actually couldn’t care less where Rod Heard or Josh Thompson are playing unless it’s at Northwestern or for an NFL team (if they announce their allegiance to us during starting lineups).

During a time where we’ve had a good deal of news (positive and negative), you made a footnote the lead story. If we’re just talking about like 6 dudes, why focus the lead on them and not the awesome players that are returning and/or coming too us next year?

Sometimes it seems the 3 of you get a bit “groupthinky”—totally fine and natural—but there might be room for another voice from time to time to keep you in check.

Overall, pod was great though as usual. Go ‘Cats!
