I'm okay with finding the silver lining.... but the fact is we got slaughtered by both Purdue and Michigan State. Back to back.
They both did the same thing against us defensively and we struggled.

We missed Hunger in the MSU game. I really hope he is able to go against Maryland.
Queen and Reese are both strong rebounders for the Terps - I could see that being an issue.
Nicholson will have to stay out of foul trouble - and Queen is going to get a lot of touches, so that will be a challenge..
Maryland has 5 guys averaging 11+ points, but at least their guards are big and don't appear to be quicker than ours.
That should help immensely.

Could be a physical game. Would be nice to get Queen and Reese in foul trouble, not the other way around.

Potential Portal Change

College football coaches(AFCA) voted today to shorten the transfer portal to a 10-day period in January, and eliminate the spring portal window. This would be bad for NU, given that the proposal would open the window from January 2-12. This would mean that non-grad transfers in all likelihood would not be able to enroll for Winter quarter (assuming grad transfer would already be in the portal once their season ends in December). The proposed timing appears to be designed for schools on the Semester system.

The proposal now goes to the Division I Council.

A the age of 14 he is alredy over six feet.

The thing aboht him is loves the game. He does not watch games like a fan, he takes notes.

I am a big believer in privacy even for my kids but one time he got up during some game and said dad I have to pee. Okay, go pee. And I did not intenonally do this (like I said, big belever in privacy) but left his notebook out and I saw he had spent the game writing plays out. Complicated, not junior high stuff. This was like major league. The kid is 14.

They were taken out of the game when we went from one down with about 10 minutes left in the first half to down 19 five minutes later (I could add in the 6 point swing to MSU just before that but that means during that period we were outscored by 25 ) Doesn't give much to cheer about

Yeah, the kids are gonna have to help out with 3, or hope that Leach/Berry can find their form. I'm happy that Nick has stepped up his 3FGA and seems to have improved against top 100 competition.

Gotta remember that Barnhizer was injured for a long while also, He missed the first 4 games and that was after being in a boot for a long time, It might have something to do with his 3 pt dropoff. Berry's struggles have been pretty well documented but Barnhizer has had his issues there as well. He just has so many other parts to his game that it gets missed

The year we gave Magic and Kelser their last loss, I had the radio on with a huge hangover, unable to get out of bed. . . until we led at halftime. Dragged my ass up to McGaw Hall and saw the Cats take down Sparty. Something no other team was able to accomplish the rest of the year!

While I fully understand that 11 was early in '79 and still today, this generation of Wildcat players has earned better support...
