Since Rutgers and Maryland fully joined the conference and the divisions were realigned in 2014, here are the cumulative standings:

1) OSU 31-3
2) WI 29-5
3) Iowa 22-12
MSU 22-12
5) NU 21-13
PSU 21-13
Mich 21-13
8) UNL 17-17
9) Minn 14-20
10) MD 10-24
11) Ind 9-25
12) PU 7-27
RU 7-27
IL 7-27

Overall, the East has a slight edge, 121-117. Since the new alignment, the Cats are 8-8 against teams in the top half. Against the top 7, the record is:
OSU 12-3
WI 7-5
MSU 8-8
NU 8-8
Mich 7-10
Iowa 5-8
PSU 6-11

Clearly, since expansion the Cats have been in the top half of the league, and have done so against schedules that include top teams.

I wonder if you asked the average fan who the top 7 teams were in that period, if they would include the Cats.

Fascinating. Would have been interesting to see how people would have filled in the records if you had left the school names out of the OP.....
