Northwestern starting to show up in bowl projections thread

HTP… may need to break out your forecasting tools! 🥹it’s been a long time.

We will still probably be underdogs in every game going forward. If we win against either Iowa or Wisky we would flip to favorite against Purdue and possibly Illinois if they continue to look like dog crap.
I think a lot may depend on Sullivan's stats going forward or if Bryant can go. Realistically the only game we might come into favored is Purdue at home...we're not getting the nod at Camp Randall and the Illinois spread will be close enough even under the best circumstances where the -3 home advantage puts us as dogs.

Oddsmakers be damned, NU has a decent chance of winning every remaining game on its schedule, unlike the past two seasons.

From my chair the final 4 games will be decided by our run defense. Maryland played a totally stupid game. If you throw out QB runs and sacks they averaged 7.7 yds a rush. I know Iowa , Wisconsin, and Illinois will run first and if they do well at that it will continue for the entire game. Have not seen Purdue play but I think they would like to run against us as well. QB play has not really been the main issue on offense...more like no protection and inability to run the ball. On the positive side effort and attitude has been surprisingly good considering everything.

Completely stupid game. Makes me wonder: was their OC drunk?

And yet, when they got down to the goal line, their run game was stuffed. You think their success running the ball might have had something to do with the threat of the big play in the passing game that they have or the threat of the QB run with Taulia? Not sure the rest of our opponents have that. We will see.

I go there a lot for work. Downtown Detroit is a blast.
I worked in the office building attached to Ford Field for a couple of years and loved it. The immediate area isn't the best for food options, except for Jose's Tacos, but good restaurants are a short walk/car ride.

I had the best lamb I've ever eaten at Detroit's Greektown for the 2003 Motor City Bowl. I remember it being not far at all from Ford Field.

My office is in ADC and I stay in the Courtyard across from the Ren Cen. If it's just me I'll usually do Sweetwater, Checker Bar, Grand Trunk for eating/drinking. For group outings Eastern Market and stadium areas are usually the destination (both great options).

In order, most likely win to least likely win, my ranking was
1 - Purdue
2 - at Illinois
3 - at Iowa
4 - at Wisconsin

So, we’ve still got a shot at a game (maybe 2, still!) in December. Bummer.

Go Cats Go Cats Go!

We can win any of the remaining three. We shouldn't be scared of any of them.

Ah, memories of the 2003 Motor City Bowl Purple Party. I helped FloridAlum pick the venue, the since-closed Carl's Chop House. Many more options in Midtown and near Ford Field now.
Try the Old Shaleighly bar down from Greektown, or just set something up with the casino next to Ford Field.

Updated projections as of Sunday AM post Badger Beatdown

CBS Sports: Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit against NIU
247 Sports: Music City Bowl in Nashville against Tennessee

ESPN's projections should be posted this afternoon

ESPN's two prognosticators have spoken:

Pinstripe Bowl vs Miami

and

Guaranteed Rate Bowl (that's in Phoenix) vs Kansas

So that's 4 projections to 4 different bowls.
